National Small Business Week to Kick Off May 12

The Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced that online registration is now open for National Small Business Week, which takes place in cities around the country May 12 through 16. Activities will include forums and panels discussing trends and issues in small business, as well as matchmaking events, networking opportunities, and awards ceremonies.

Events scheduled around the country

Daylong conferences will take place in cities nationwide, concluding in Washington, DC, on May 15 and 16 with the announcement of the 2014 National Small Business Person of the Year. Candidates from around the country will compete for the honor.

Entrepreneurs will find many opportunities to network and explore issues that confront small business managers in today's changing economic environment. Sessions will cover a variety of topics, including access to capital, marketing, physical and digital security, business growth, and the Affordable Care Act. The schedule is as follows:

  • May 12: San Francisco
  • May 13: Kansas City
  • May 15: Boston
  • May 15-16: Washington, DC

Participants and attendees include small business experts, national business leaders, and federal and local government officials. Events will be live-streamed on the SBA website at www.sba.gov.
